Hello There

I'm Hope!

My name is Hope, the owner and creator at GBAC! Ever since I could hold a crayon, I've been drawing. Art has always been a way for me to let my mind think freely and for me to let it go the direction it wants. I started with pencil and paper tracing in my elementary school art classes because what 4th grader can draw a detailed dragon?

Through grade school I was always enrolled in an art class, which furthered my love for the hobby and opened my skills up to new mediums. I discovered oil painting, digital art, and 3D modeling.

As I began my undergraduate degree, I wanted to keep my love for art going. To do so, I enrolled in an art minor, but quickly found out that the art of time management does not sit well with Mechanical Engineering. I decided to focus on my major and put art somewhat on a side burner.

I tried to keep the spirit alive by doing Bob Ross inspired paintings in my dormroom and creating low poly art with Adobe Illustrator. These were things I could do to release my stress and anxiety about school. I coined Hope Does Art, I know, very creative, during my junior year of college and worked to grow my presence on social media. I'd participate in small collaborations with other small artists while I worked to make my brand something more.

After I graduated, more time was put towards growing myself as an artist and figuring out what I wanted to do with this passion I put so much time and effort into. Golden Bee Art Co was born. Leaning on my dad's love for bees and my mom's passion for crafting, I created the brand that represents my freewill to create whatever my heart desires while staying in touch with nature. Regardless of the time I have, GBAC will always be something I can immerse myself in and be creative with.

While balancing a full-time career as an aerospace engineer and pursuing my master’s degree keeps me busy, I’ve discovered a sense of peace amidst the chaos. My brain thrives on creativity and with brain breaks at work or during homework sessions, I take to a notebook and jot down all of the new ideas I have hoping to turn them into something more.

The Other

Life Outside Art!

When we are not working, my boyfriend and I are usually somewhere disc golfing! Don't know what disc golf is? Well, think of it as an overly engineered paper plate that you throw at chains. It's become one of our biggest things to do together and gets us outside.

We've played in numerous leagues and tournaments including our most recent, the NADGT (National Amatuer Disc Golf Tournamnet) National Championship that was held in Austin, TX. It was loads of fun and we're so excited to be going down to FL for the finale!
